Denise Treadwell Thompkins is the writer/producer/director of numerous original stage plays. A native of Melbourne, FL, she earned her undergraduate degree at Florida A & M University. After marrying and raising their two children, she furthered her education by earning a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling and is currently working towards her Doctorate.

Denise has always enjoyed writing poetry, short stories and of course, stage and screen plays. Prompted to produce her first play after hearing words of wisdom,
“… Often times we don't succeed because we don't complete”, she took hold of a dream and by the grace of God, saw it through to completion and made her dream a reality. October 1996, with a cast of 14, Denise produced her fist play, “Life's Plan”. This show was performed at the Publick Playhouse in Cheverly, MD. This was only the beginning. Since 1996, she has written and produced over 15 original stage plays. To date her plays have been performed in D.C., MD,PA, and FL.

She is thankful for the success of Treadwell Productions thus far. A success made possible first by God, the hard work of wonderful and talented cast and crew, supportive sponsors and audiences; and last but not least, her loving husband, David L. Thompkins.
